Printing Services Dromana

Dromana trades on a short, intense season. Between the Boxing Day rush and the end of the Easter long weekend, the foreshore fills, Point Nepean Road backs up, and every cafe, hire shop and market stall along the strip needs its printed material out the door yesterday. The rest of the year runs quieter and more considered, which is when the label runs, catalogues and rebrands get done.

We print for both halves of that year. Our plant sits at Somerville, about 25 minutes up the freeway, which means Dromana jobs get proofed, printed and delivered without going through a Melbourne queue first. Seventeen years of Peninsula work sits behind that, and no minimum order on most product lines.

Fast-turnaround print for the summer trade

Peak season print has one requirement, which is speed. A specials board that arrives in March is worthless.

Digital printing handles this. Short runs, no plate setup, and colour that holds across a reprint if you run out mid-January and need another 200.

What Dromana businesses order most in the lead-up to summer:

  • A-frame and corflute inserts for footpath trading
  • Menus and drinks lists, laminated for outdoor tables
  • Flyers for market stalls and holiday letting drops
  • Event and market signage
  • Stickers and swing tags for retail
  • Business cards for seasonal staff and agents

Same-day and next-day turnaround is available on most digital jobs, depending on quantity and finishing.

Wine, food and produce labels

The vineyards behind Dromana, up through Red Hill and across to Merricks, sell as much on the shelf as they do at the cellar door. So do the small-batch producers who trade at Peninsula markets: sauces, honey, preserves, gin, cold-pressed juice.

Label work we handle for them:

  • Pressure-sensitive labels on rolls for bottling line application
  • Label sheets for hand-applied short runs
  • Textured and uncoated stocks for wine and spirits
  • Foil and embossing for premium ranges
  • Back labels with standards-compliant text laid out to fit

Short runs are the point here. A producer trialling a new varietal or a seasonal preserve does not want 5,000 labels sitting in a shed. We will run 250.

Signage along the strip and up the hill

Retail on Point Nepean Road competes with the beach directly across the road. Traders further up towards Arthurs Seat compete with the view. Signage has to work at driving speed and on foot.

Large format work for Dromana:

  • Pull-up and roll-up banners for events, expos and open homes
  • Window decals and vinyl lettering for shopfronts
  • Corflute and ACM signage for real estate and trades
  • Wall graphics for fitouts
  • Point-of-sale displays and counter signage
  • Posters in A2 through to A0

Real estate agents working the Dromana, Safety Beach and McCrae market are steady users of this, particularly through the spring listing season.

Larger offset runs

Once a job passes a few thousand copies, offset is cheaper per unit and holds colour more tightly across the run. Peninsula clients use it for annual reports, membership magazines, tourism guides, school prospectuses and bulk brochure runs.

Common offset jobs:

If you are unsure which way a job should run, send us the quantity and we will price it both ways.

Finishes worth paying for

Not every job needs a finish. These are the ones where it changes the result:

  • Foil stamping on wine labels, gift vouchers and invitations
  • Soft-touch lamination on business cards and premium packaging
  • Spot UV for contrast on a matte cover
  • Embossing and debossing on cellar door collateral
  • Die-cutting for shaped tags, coasters and inserts
  • Matte and gloss lamination on anything handled outdoors

Samples can be posted to you before you commit.

Artwork setup

Plenty of Dromana businesses do not have a designer on call. A Canva file, a logo in the wrong format, or a photo pulled off a phone will usually still print well with some preparation.

We handle:

  • Print-ready file setup, bleed and trim
  • Colour conversion and correction
  • Resolution and image quality checks
  • Layout adjustments and typesetting
  • Digital proofs before anything goes to press

There is no charge for basic file checks on jobs we are printing.

Getting print to Dromana

Why Choose DTPS
  • The plant is at 6/19 Industrial Drive, Somerville, roughly 25 km from Dromana via the Mornington Peninsula Freeway. That matters more than it sounds. A metropolitan printer sending stock down the Peninsula adds a day, sometimes two, and a courier handover you cannot chase.

    • Delivery to Dromana, Safety Beach, McCrae, Rosebud and Mount Martha
    • Pickup from Somerville if you are heading that way
    • Urgent jobs coordinated by phone rather than through a portal
    • One point of contact from quote through to delivery

Call (03) 5977 7119 if you have a deadline and want to know whether it is achievable before you commit.

Client Experiences

FAQ:

How quickly can you get print to Dromana?

Most digital jobs run same-day or next-day, with delivery to Dromana the following morning. Large format and offset take longer depending on finishing. If you have a fixed date, tell us when you enquire and we will confirm whether it is achievable before you commit.

Do you deliver to Dromana or do I need to collect?

Both options are available. We deliver to Dromana and the surrounding suburbs including Safety Beach, McCrae, Rosebud and Mount Martha. Collection from our Somerville plant at 6/19 Industrial Drive is also fine if you are passing through.

Can you print wine labels for a small Peninsula producer?

Yes. We run labels on rolls for line application and label sheets for hand application, with runs from a few hundred upwards. Textured stocks, foil and embossing are all available, and we can lay out back label text so it meets labelling requirements without crowding the design.

What is the smallest order you will take?

Most product lines have no minimum. Businesses regularly order 50 business cards, 100 flyers or a single pull-up banner. Offset printing is the exception, since plate setup only makes sense above roughly 1,000 copies.

My artwork was made in Canva. Will it print properly?

Usually, after some preparation. Canva exports often lack bleed and use the wrong colour profile. Send the file through and we will check it, fix what needs fixing, and send back a proof before printing.

Do you do outdoor signage that survives a Dromana summer?

Yes. Anything going outdoors gets specified for it, which means UV-stable inks, weather-rated substrates and appropriate lamination. Tell us where the sign is going and how long it needs to last, and we will match the material to it.

Can you match an existing brand colour?

Yes. Provide your Pantone reference or a previously printed sample and we will match it. On offset runs we can hold that match tightly across the whole job. On digital there is a small tolerance, which we will explain before you approve.
